Hiya Coalition9 Members + Friends!
The C9 Team and I are so excited that our C9 Summer Social at CHS Field is less than a week away! We had so much fun last year that Members almost immediately requested that we have an event at a Saints game again in 2023. Request granted! And we have had a huge response—we’ll have over 100 people at next Tuesday’s game. Can’t wait to see all the amazing relationship building among C9 Community Members!
And more amazing events are on the horizon this fall—our September event will be a Jam Session on Revenue Generation, and October will bring our C9 Community Appreciation event. We have 1 Event Partner and 2 Event Supporter spots available for the Jam Session event, so shoot me a message if you’re interested. Check out the details below.
I spent some time kayaking at the family cabin last weekend—even tried getting Ori our chocolate lab on board, which was, well, not super successful. Wet, confused dog pic below. Just another awesome summer adventure!

Member Nathan Young announced that How To Be Second, the book he co-authored with David Hartman, has been published and is now available for purchase. Congratulations Nathan! Member Jason Sprenger has been selected to join the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Board of Directors as its next Midwest District Director. PRSA is the biggest trade organization in the world for PR professionals, and this is its highest leadership level. Jason will be ratified by delegates during this fall’s Leadership Assembly in Nashville, and his two-year term will start January 1, 2024. Congrats, Jason! Learn more here

Member Joe Montgomery, who is a member of the Japan America Society of Minnesota (www.mn-Japan.org) board, announced that their annual Obon Festival at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory at Como Park will be held on Sunday, August 20th from 3 to 9 PM. Games, martial arts, food, music, and lantern lighting usually bring out about 10,000 people for the event. Great for families and those interested in Japanese culture! Member Joey Torkildson of Voila announced that his free class, The Zen Art of Talking to Strangers, will be held again on August 24th at GCS Title in Eagan. It’s a deep dive into the heart of human connection that unlocks the secrets to effortless communication and meaningful encounters. In addition to his work with Olitzky Consulting Group, facilitator Avi Olitzky was announced as Chief Spiritual and People Officer (and co-founder) of SpirituWell—a new platform providing 24/7 on-demand virtual chaplaincy for all faiths in hospital and hospice settings. Learn more
Member Rob Kress of Waypost Advisors announced that they are looking for a few experienced people for a couple different projects. These interim, up-to-full-time roles will last 3-6 months for their clients. No agencies please. Contact Rob for inquiries.
Warehouse consolidation/optimization experience: Someone who understands how to run an efficient warehouse and is skilled at identifying opportunities for efficiency and flow improvements.
Supply and Operations Planning (S&OP, SIOP) process: Someone who has led and ideally implemented an S&OP process for a middle-market company from end to end. Focused on process with supply chain emphasis, this person doesn't need to be an IT expert.
SAP procurement modules: Seeking someone who could provide basic training to a procurement team on how to effectively use SAP procurement modules. Looking for user experience expertise, not ERP implementation expertise.

Facilitator Janiece Gray of JGray and Associates is helping to coordinate a virtual Physician Leadership Development Program that starts in September. This program is meant for physicians who are thinking about getting into healthcare leadership or taking on an administrative role. It is meant to be a “toe in the water” overview course of key topics that healthcare leaders need to know: leadership, finance, strategy, legal/ethics, quality/PI, etc. Additionally, there is a healthy dose of coaching, StrengthsFinders, mentorship, plenty of CMEs, and a lot of self-reflection for physicians to determine what/if there are some next steps that they wish to take. Friend of C9 Jen Gilhoi had her TEDx Talk Why We Should Rethink Drinking Culture published on July 6, 2023 and was selected for a global publicity campaign and top positioning on the TEDx Talk YouTube channel with 36.8M subscribers. It's amassed 34K views and is still climbing! A Watch Party and Q&A session is being held at ModernWell on September 19 from 12 to 1 PM and is open to the public.

Registration is now closed for our C9 Summer Social at CHS Field. We're expecting over 100 Coalition9 Members, their guests, our Event Partners + Supporters, and C9 Community Supporters.
Attendees: Watch your inbox for a ticket confirmation email this week and a Know Before You Go email on Monday, which will provide details on where to pick up your tickets, how to get to our reserved space, and where to check in to pick up your name tag.
CHS Field will require a photo ID to claim your ticket, so if you registered under your name twice to include a guest, please log in to Eventbrite to update your guest’s specific name and contact info.
