Founder Message

Hi Coalition9 Members + Friends!

I love the peak of summer—spending time at the cabin and on the lake, working in the garden and hanging out on the porch at the hobby farm, and meeting up with friends for outdoor fun. Love it.

We had another incredible C9 Well event yesterday. Our first Walk + Talk brought together Coalition9 Members to explore Cathedral Hill while sneaking in some light exercise and getting to know other Members.

Next month brings our C9 Summer Social at CHS Field where we’ll get to enjoy some baseball, share a meal + drinks, and build relationships. I’m so excited for this event! Everyone loves it, so if you haven’t been in previous years, sign up early! We’ll be sending the email invite this week. We have opened Event Partner and Supporter opportunities as well. Even though we’re in the midst of summer, fall is just around the corner. If you and I have had a conversation about becoming a Member, let’s reconnect this summer. We’re currently building groups for fall.

Member Mark Williams announced that Mark D. Williams Custom Homes will be holding a charity event benefiting Joy Collaborative on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5:30 to 8 PM. It’s a game night and silent auction at a fabulous luxury home on Medicine Lake. Come support a great cause that helps fund children-designed spaces. Learn more + register
Volunteer + Sponsorship Opportunities: Member Mark Ostrom of Joy Collaborative announced that they need volunteers for their “Joy Mobile on a Stick” campaign at the MN State Fair. Their mobile sensory unit, the Joy Mobile, will help visitors experience a calm space in the midst of the chaotic Fair. Volunteers will greet and hand out paper Joy Mobile fans to guests, and spread the word about how this nonprofit helps kids. Member Khalique Rogers of Center for School Change shared that ABC KSTP Channel 5 is shining a spotlight on the incredible opportunities now available for youth trade programs in our state through Minnesota Housing Agency grants for educators. This amazing work teaches youth valuable construction skills while building homes for low-income families, and the Housing Agency’s historic funding opens doors for education and community development like never before! Member Kristin Nordling announced that Lakeside HR Group has been named a Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal Best Places to Work Honoree in the extra small company category. Lakeside has grown from 10 employees in January to 17 as of July! Congrats to Kristin and the Lakeside HR Group team!
In the theme of “frequently wrong but never arbitrary,” Member Tom Hart of Boyer & Associates is requesting your feedback on the Microsoft ecosystem. He recently published a “Why Microsoft” 15-minute video that gives an overview of Microsoft’s ecosystem advantage during this phase of intense digital transformation (fueled by AI advancements, local/global dynamics, etc). August SPARK Event - C9 Summer Social at CHS Field

Back by popular demand—the C9 Community is going to a St. Paul Saints game for our 2024 C9 Summer Social!

We have reserved the Treasure Island Terrace at CHS Field, which is a private space dedicated to the C9 Community for enjoying hosted food + beverages, baseball, and building relationships with other C9ers and guests.

The Saints are scheduled to play the Scranton Wilkes Barre RailRiders on the day of our event. The game starts at 7:07 PM, but join us starting at 5:30 PM for a meal and good company. This will be a C9 Member + 1 guest event.

June C9 SPARK Event Recap

Thank you to everyone who made it out to Tradition Capital Bank for our Coalition9 SPARK Breakfast Pop-In! The room was buzzing with the energy of awesome people, meaningful conversations, and relationship building.

C9 Members and our guests enjoyed the simplicity of this social gathering. We heard from several nonmember guests who said that everyone was so friendly and they felt very welcomed. So thank you, C9 Members, for being shining examples of our core beliefs—particularly living and leading with Character First.

It just goes to show that getting a bunch of good people together from our Community is more than enough to have a great time. That's just how we roll!

June C9 Well Event Recap

We had such an incredible experience at our June C9 Well event! Helen Buron from Light Centered Healing led us in an Active Meditation session using guided breathwork to unblock creativity and unlock mental clarity.

This was a full hour of deep guided meditation that tapped into all of our senses. At times, it brought up intense emotions, but Helen guided us through using breathing techniques, hands-on body support, essential oils, music, affirmations, and other tools to support the body and mind during this healing journey.

We were screaming, laughing, and some even crying. The concept of mindfully releasing what no longer serves you really resonated with the group.
